Pribinova 40 - Slovenské elektrárne’s new HQ

evening terrace

JTRE’s stylish Eurovea City waterfront district has a new tenant: Slovakia’s largest electricity producer. Slovenské elektrární (SE) has relocated to Pribinova 40 - the developer’s newest office building, a contemporary and inspiring workplace that promotes green commuting. When seeking a new head office location, SE sought a truly distinctive property that  reflects brand identity and corporate culture. An additional requirement was the need for optimal common areas to support and promote constructive communications between the company’s various departments.

The office’s interior design is stylishly defined by a symbolic connection between industrial power plants and a representative head office – where function meets form. Each floor has graphic wall decals, a distinctive talking-point feature created from original hand-drawn technical drawings, as well as objects assembled from original power plant machinery and equipment. A prominent role is played by images of nuclear fuel, reactor pressure vessel, turbines, and water level - since H2O is a prerequisite for electricity production.

A welcoming terrace on the top floor is the perfect place from which to enjoy stunning views of Bratislava and the Danube. An inviting visitor zone is connected with the friendly reception area and cafe, which seamlessly extends into the relaxation zone with kitchenette. This is connected to a meeting area for employees from all four floors, an auditorium, the general director's office, and a meeting room with top of the range technical appliances. The other floors feature a combination of open plan offices and cubicles, and are complemented by small meeting rooms, brainstorming Idea Labs, focus rooms, quiet work zones with abundant greenery, and relaxation zones.

This high profile project especially emphasized spatial acoustics and the repurposing of original furniture to reduce environmental burden: the whopping refit included 540 desks, 750 cupboards, 120 IT monitors, 320 chairs, couches, and drawers. And SE’s new parking area now has 70 chargers for e-cars, twice the number of bike stands, 16 scooter spaces, and showers/changing rooms.
