National Cultural Monument Warehouse No. 7 presents a unique gastronomic operation

The new DOCK7 concept – a restaurant and brewery – belonging to the Medusa group in Slovakia is located directly on the Danube embankment in the iconic industrial building Warehouse No. 7. In terms of scope, complexity and investment, it is the largest project of the Medusa group in Slovakia.
Space
DOCK7 occupied the entire first floor of the Warehouse No. 7 building in the Eurovea City district. The project architects designed a space that harmoniously and sensitively connects historical heritage with modern technologies, while standing out with precise execution and unique design elements. The entrance portal to the space with a total area of 1,600 m² is located directly under the square with the statue of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik. The first part of the space belongs to the restaurant with a dominant bar, which smoothly transitions to the heart of the brewery, where the lying tanks and other technologies are located. All of this is available to the customer’s eye, along with an educational section that will present interesting elements of the concept in a simple form – the building, the brewery or the ingredients. The entire DOCK7 space is also very versatile and allows for organizing various events without disrupting the operation and at the same time maintaining the privacy of the event. In case of booking the entire facility, one of the largest event spaces with a capacity of up to 600 people will be available.
Restaurant
The authentic experience of the space will be supported by the DOCK7 concept restaurant with a capacity for 280 customers. Another 190 seats will be available outdoors. The menu is dominated by a kitchen with modern meat preparation techniques. The most modern technological equipment, a grill or a special oven with a smokehouse will allow the culinary team to serve guests meat specialties prepared using the “low & slow” method.
Brewery
The heart of the DOCK7 concept is a brewery with an annual technical capacity of 6,000 hectoliters. The basis of the beer offer will be a 12° lager tapped directly from the tank, which will be complemented by an equally attractive 11° lager. The dark 13°, tuned with Belgian Château Chocolat malt, is also ideal for cut beer. Top-fermented beers on offer represent unique recipes and hopping in the style of IPA, APA, BLONDE or KÖLSCH beer. Bottom-fermented beers such as IPL are cold-hopped with Australian hops. None of the DOCK7 brewery beers are pasteurized and no filters are used for cleaning.
Name and industrial heritage
The name of the restaurant and brewery concept, DOCK7, directly refers to the industrial building Warehouse No. 7. Since its construction in 1921-22, it has been an architectural landmark of the Bratislava port, currently the Eurovea embankment and promenade. Until now, the public has mainly been able to admire the exterior of the iconic building. With the opening of the DOCK7 restaurant and brewery, visitors will be able to experience the genius loci in the interior of the iconic building for the first time in decades. The space is dominated by a structural system with mushroom-headed columns or massive historical door systems. The name also seeks a parallel with the trend in modern metropolises, where former industrial areas or docks are being transformed into vibrant urban centers.
